For me I will not be able to access organic meats and the cost of organic produce could make it cost prohibitive. She also provides information on purchasing and using various pantry items.Patterson has thoughtfully provided explanations of British cooking terms, provided temperature information for Fahrenheit, Celsius, Fan (I will assume she means Convection as the convection oven uses a fan) and Gas Mark in her recipes making her cookbook very useful for US cooks.

All the things you want in a cookbook...clear ,concise , well planned, and easy to read. Most cookbooks have far too many ingredients, need far too much equipment, take too long to prepare and give too much informtion .The result can be intimidation! Tessa Patterson shows a flair for cooking simple tasty meals on a budget, and invites us to try them . Highly recommend.
As a university student, I don't have a lot of time or money to spend on cooking, and I am finding this cookbook easy to understand with some good ideas for cheap meals. I'm in America where they have different sausages from England, and I've tried sweet Italian sausages for the sausage, potato and apple bake which turned out really well.
We've bought Tessa Patterson's Thrifty Cook Main Meals [ Edition] amazing #book at , get cooked two of the recipes, the first is here [...] .
